The Homework Machine-Dan Gutman

I just finished reading this book and I would rate it a 5 out of ten. Here is a little about it, the story starts off when these four students are in the police station for throwing a computer/ homework machine in to the Grand Canyon. Well they are all telling the story and each one of them basically have the same story from a different point of view. Benjamin (one of the four) was the one who invented the machine. Then this one-day he stated putting things on the Internet and put that all the students in the U.S. should wear red socks on the next day. So everyone expect for Benjamin wore red socks the next day. Then he invented the homework machine. If you want to find out if the police find out about the homework machine read this book. I would recommend it to boys and girls.

May Bird and the Ever After – Jodi Lynn

May Bird and the Ever After is an awesome and adventurous book. It is about a girl, May Bird, who is very eccentric. She has a kitty that she named Somber Kitty, who is hairless. Well, one day, May Bird falls into a lake in the woods. When she gets out, she is in a totally different world, the world of Ever After. She learned that in the Ever After, there are only spirits and since May is a human, she is in a lot of danger. She meets new spirits to help her out such as Pumpkin, Captain Fabbio, Beatrice, and John the Jibber. There is someone named “The Evil Bo Cleevile” and he will kill anybody who is alive. Bo Cleevile has an assistant, the Bogey. The Bogey has dogs to help him find a live one. The only way May can get out of the world is by finding the Book of the Dead. Oh, and by the way, Mays’ kitty, Somber Kitty, followed May into the lake, but May didn’t know. Somber Kitty is lost and is in a lot of danger as well because Bo Cleevil has banned cats because the dogs are afraid of them. This 12 point book is good for both boys and girls, but I think girls might like it a tad bit better. If you want to find out what happens to May and Somber Kitty, read May Bird and the Ever After.
