Exiled – Kathleen Karr

Exiled takes place way back in the 1850’s after the American Revolution, but before the Civil War. Ail travels to America as part of the U.S. Camel Corps. There, Ali decides to work until it’s time to become free just like his father. Though the cruise to America was very wobbly, Ali manages to make a friend with an orphan camel, Seid, and he manages to fall in love with Fatinah. Finally winning over his love and becoming a father, Ali realizes his feelings for “men-beasts” -humans- are growing stronger. Finding a perfect desert full of sand dunes for his family Ali meets on of his men-beast friends, Hi-Jolly, and there does his feelings show. Can a camel and a human really become friends and can they really understand each other? Read through the memoirs of this fantastic camel and only then can you understand Ali’s feelings. I think many children of all ages will be surprised with the texture of this book, so please take your time and read this book! These characters really existed, but Mrs. Karr had to partially fictionalized some of them for the sparks of this book. By the way, I love how Fatinah and Ali actually ended up being together…

Deep, Down, Popular – Poebe Stone

Deep, Down, Popular is a story about the relationship between two entirely different people. Conrad Parker Smith is a 6th-grade soccer star and is the most popular kid in school. Jessie Lou Ferguson
is a loner and she’s just a Southern tomboy. Just how did they meet? They met because of Conrad’s broken leg and that’s when everything started. Because of his injury, Conrad’s popularity is going down and he’s spending more time with Jessie. Thinking her life is now better, Jessie falls more in love with Parker. But after all they did together, can they really be true friends? When deciding who’s going to be his date for the ball, will Conrad pick a popular girl or will he pick Jessie, his so-called best friend? Were they really friends at all? Deep, Down, Popular is more of a book for people who are independent and most of the time by themselves. Though I’m not like that, I read this book in just 20 minutes. 280 pages in 20 minutes! I learned a lesson from this book and I hope to use it one day.

On his first day in Kotir, he was captured by some wildcat soldiers and Tsarmina broke the sword Martin’s father awarded him with. Right there he vowed to slay Tsarmina, even if she is the queen, she’s not the queen of Mossflower… Until she holds a ceremony finally deciding that Tarmina would be the Queen of Kotir and Mossflower. All the woodlanders -ferrets, hedgehogs, badgers, mice, weasels, etc.- held a ceremony and there they decided to fight against the wildcats. Mossflower was rightfully theirs and they should do what they need to do. Martin journeys to the Mountain of Dragons seeking a powerful weapon to prepare for the ultimate battle for the freedom of their land, Mossflower. Will he make it? How will the battle turn out and who will win? Read the first book the Mossflower series and answer all these questions in your head. This book should be read by anybody, boy or girl. During school, in one of her classes, Bella noticed her classmate was acting strangely, like something was wrong with he and he just had to get away. Even though Bella was in shock, she still loved him… Or not! Even if she still did, what kind of dangers will cross her path? By being a vampire’s loved one, will other vampires come by seeking a little snack? Read the first book of the Twilight Series and please enjoy it. I think this book is more of a 16 or 15-year-old kind of book, but the passion between the immortal and the mortal perked my interest. If you’re into romantic but dangerous books, please, you’re welcome to read this book! Enjoy!

This confusing, yet adorable book is a book for teenage kids who are outsiders. You Don’t Know Me should be recommended to kids around Jr. High age, but if you’re younger and this book perks your taste, give it a go. John’s personality is so blank that it’s interesting. I love that he knows what things are in his life, yet he doesn’t know anyone in it(nor does anyone know him).

The Mysterious Benedict Society – Trenton Lee Stewart

The most wonderful, mysterious, clock-ticking book I’ve ever read has the formula for sticking people to it’s everlasting pages full of intimidating words. The Mysterious Benedict Society is made up of four members who are, Reynie (Reynard) Muldoon, Sticky (George) Washington, Kate Wetherall, and Constance Contraire. They all entered a contest for gifted children and they all were the only four who passed. But answering all the answers correctly wasn’t what got them in; what got them in was Mr. Benedict’s(the inventor of the tests) impression of them being talented, the fact that they’re children, and the fact that they’re all alone. Each and everyone of them were either runaways or orphans. They proved themselves gifted alright, and now they’re on a mission to the Institute on Nomansan Island. The owner and builder, Mr. Curtain, has been using children to broadcast messages. These special messages will soon be heard every human being, making them lose their fears and memories of the past, on Earth and it’s up to The Mysterious Benedict Society to find out why and how. Sacrificing some things and risking others, the four children face many awful things that could easily take over them or may be even possibly… Ruin their friendship. Please read The Mysterious Benedict Society very carefully and I hope you understand how friendship could defeat anything and that sacrificing and risking is the only rule in being a spy. Every boy and girl on earth should read this and I know you will, so take your time and read this novel! And since I’m so emotional, I’ll tell you that I love the bonding between the four children. Even if one of them is a pain in the butt, or if one of them is a total scaredy-cat, they are always there for them. That is what friendship really is.

The Bartimaeus Trilogy: Ptolemy’s Gate – Jonathon Stroud

The third book of the Bartimaeus Trilogy is an intriguing novel full of many questions. Nathaniel has finally grown into a fine, young man and is a popular magician that was recently awarded as England’s new minister. Still under his control, is the almighty Bartimaeus. But it doesn’t seem like he’s so almighty anymore; during the years, Nathaniel kept working him like a dog and so now, he’s as weak and slow as a snail. Meanwhile, Bartimaeus is hiding a secret from Nathaniel about a person, a person who was always on Nathaniel’s mind. Kitty, one of Nathaniel’s enemies from three years ago, disguises herself using a different identity. She now works as an assistant for a former magician and is studying about djinnis, but who exactly is the djinni she’s looking for? Kitty reads about something about Ptolemy’s Gate, an opening to the other world, and realizes that djinni should not be treated so unfairly. Their masters are always telling them what to do and if they don’t do it right or if they don’t do it, they’re punished with painful warnings. Will anyone listen to what Kitty thinks is right? What is the secret that is so secretive that Bartimaeus has to hide from Nathaniel? Reading Ptolemy’s Gate, the third book of The Bartimaeus Trilogy, is the only thing you could do to find out! I’d recommend this book to more of 7th or 8th grade boys and girls because of the incredible vocabulary, but if you’re interested in fantasy books, then I’d recommend this book to you, too! I love that the relationship Nathaniel and Bartimaeus have, never reveals it’s true feelings. They’re really good friends, don’t you think?

No Dogs Allowed – Bill Wallace

This book is about a young girl named Kristine. Kristine was just suffering the tragedy of loosing her horse, Dandy. Kristine was very sad because they were very good friends. They would always talk with each other under a tree. Kristine has a little sister and another little baby is on the way. Kristine thought that everybody would forget about her birthday because of the baby. When Kristine and her mother went to her favorite place to eat, she found out that her family and friends had planned a birthday party for her. She was so surprised because she thought that everybody would forget it because of the baby. When it was time to open presents she opened her fathers present. The present was moving a lot. Kristine opened the present and found out that the present was A PUPPY!!! Kristine first yelled,”WHAT!!” She yelled this because she did not want another pet. Kristine did not want to love another pet because she did not want to face another horrible tragedy. Everybody was surprised. After that she acted like she was happy, but right in the middle of the opening the presents Kristine’s dad whispered into her ear that,”Kristine, your mother is having a baby.” Then Kristine just wanted to forget about the birthday and help her mother, but her dad stopped that. Do you think Kristine will just give the puppy away or keep it and love it? Do you think that Kristine’s mother will be fine after the delivery of the baby? If you want to find out, read this OUTSTANDING book,”No Dogs Allowed.” I think this book will appeal to girls more than boys, but I am a boy and I enjoyed it. I also think this book does not have hard vocabulary. I think this book is a 4 1/2 star on a 5 star scale. This book is only 214 pages long and it will be fun to read. If you like dogs, babies and the farm life, I think you will enjoy it. The author, Bill Wallace, I think, is a very POWERFUL writer. Bill Wallace is a two-time winner of the Texas Bluebonnet Award and the recipient of a lifetime achievement award from the Oklahoma Center for this book. I hope that some boys will come out and have an open mind about reading this book, I know I did. I loved this book and I hope you will read it.

Last Shot – John Feinstein

Last Shot is wonderful, mystery, chapter book written by John Feinstein. I enjoyed reading this book and so, I hope you do, too. Well, this book starts with Steven Thomas winning the writing contest for 14-year-olds and younger with another person named, Susan Carol Anderson. The grand prize is a trip to New Orleans with a press pass to go to the Final Four! The Final Four is like a huge tournament where four major, league basketball teams are chosen to play against each other to compete for their victory. Steven and Susan happened to overhear a conversation about the all-time famous, basketball player, Chip Graber, with this other man. He was telling the MSU’s star player that he has to win the game on Saturday, but the game on Monday; he has to choke out and lose. Otherwise… Was Chip Graber, MSU’s star, being blackmailed by this man? This unbelievable piece of information enters Steven’s and Susan’s personal bubble and proof is needed to catch this guy in the game, which is just two days away! Exactly what did Chip do to deserve this, or did he not do anything? This mystery caught my attention and I just know it will catch yours, too. Many boys and girls, of all ages, should read this book and when you read it, don’t stop reading! I love the secret relationship between Steven and Susan and how they come from strangers to best friends.

This adventurous story explains the life of three main characters, Despereaux Tilling, Roscuro, and Miggery sow, which will lead to another big story. Desperaux Tilling was born a runt with his eyes open, not to mention his big ears, and that is very rare. Everyone knew he was going to die soon, but to their surprise he lived. But he was as different to the other mice as a flower is different to fruits. The other mice spent their days searching for crumbs and trying to teach him how to hunt, but he never hunted for food;for he spent his days in the library reading. One day, he hears a sweet, honey sound and finding that it was a music, he met a princess, Princess Pea.
Now, Roscuro was born a rat, but he doesn’t act like one. Until he tricks his “friend” and steals his red cloth, the only memory he has is of his daughter. He finds the entrance to a castle full of light and remembers that once he killed the queen (by poisoning her soup) which came to him losing his identity, and the meaning, of being a rat.
Miggery Sow was put up for sale by her father. This stupid stranger comes up and buys her for two chickens and a red cloth. That stranger is now called “Uncle” by Miggery Sow and he has worked her like a slave. Her ears look like cabbages from Uncle pinching her when she does something wrong. While Miggery was working in the fields, Princess Pea came riding on her horse, smiling and waving. That gave Miggery Sow the wish to become a princess… And her wish might come true after all because she now works as a servant in the castle of Princess.
Roscuro finds Miggery the perfect target to help him have revenge on Princess Pea(he still doesn’t forgive her mother for making him losing his identity). He tricks Miggery Sow into threatening Princess Pea to give up her crown to Miggery and if she doesn’t, then she will have to die. One thing though, the moment Despereaux met Pea, he fell in love. But he broke the rule of mice, he wasn’t supposed to talk to a human nor be touched or seen by one, and so he was sent to the dungeon underground, the place where Princess Pea was hidden, thinking of giving up her crown. Every mice that was sent there died of being lost in the darkness. Despereaux set up for his journey, he will not die and he will save the princess, that’s what he thought. What will happen to Despereaux in this dungeon full of rats that feed on mice? Will the princess give up her crown? What will become of Despereaux after this journey? Please read this book full of love and the hatred among others. I’d recommend it to every human being possible of Earth! This story was so touching and even though this blog is long and the book is kind of short, I think it was worth it.

Paper Quake – Katheryn Reiss

This book is a book full of fears and judge-mental sisters. I’d like to recommend this book to both boys and girls. Even though the story mainly talks about Violet Jackstone, a girl, Violet’s anxiety and feelings of longing to belong somewhere can be felt by both girls and boys. Violet Jackstone was born as a triplet, but over the years, she found out that she looked nothing like them. Her two other sister, Rose and Jasmine, looked exactly the same, like twins, while I was and outsider. They spent more time with each other (excluding Violet from every activity they did) and they even have this twin mind-reading-communication-thing going on. Truth is, Violet has a terrible fear of earthquakes and lately California had been accompanied by some. Every time an earthquake occurs, Violet has a vision of flames and three children. Everyone managed to escape the fire, but the little girl who was screaming. Her parents, Lily and Greg, are florists and they just bought a third flower shop on Chance Street in San Francisco. While Violet was cleaning, she finds an old letter and the first words written were, My beloved Baby V… Didn’t her parents call her that? Then, whenever an earthquake occurs, a different letter appears. After reading these so-called “love letters” and diary entries, Violet thinks these letter were meant for her, they were somehow warning her of something. One of the diary entries said that a person was feeling guilty of something, the death of V. Violet then figures that this was a warning that she was going to die. She has a weak heart just like this V person does. Her sisters and her two best friends, Beth and Sam, help her with all these mysteries leading from one clue to another. But as soon as November 1st comes, Violet knows they’re running out of time. There was going to be a very big earthquake coming that could possibly kill everyone in San Fran., and she could feel it. Her friends and sisters, not even her parents, believe her anymore; they just think she’s paranoid. Is Violet really crazy? How much time do they have left before everyone dies of the earthquake? Will there really be a big earthquake? Read this fascinating fantasy and all these questions will be answered. Enjoy!

The House Next Door – Richie Tankersley Cusick

The House Next Door is an interesting love story and it begins when Emma Donovan spends a night at the haunted house, next to her house, because of a dare with her brother, Charlie. Actually what really started this story was when Emma fell through a hole on the porch causing her to land in the cellar. She feels so weak that she can’t move, she can’t open her eyes. But then she hears a voice, one that is so strong, so rich and beautiful. The moment she opens her eyes, she falls in love with a handsome man with dark hair, irresistibly, stirring eyes, but for some reason she can’t see him that well; he seems so translucent. This man’s name was David and Emma loved him. When she was around him and in the haunted house, she didn’t feel like herself, like someone else was controlling her. Charlie thinks she’s going crazy ever since they found out that David was a ghost; he had died in a fire about a hundred years ago. Emma also thought about this. Why am I in love with David and why does he love me? How does he even know me if he died about a hundred years ago? There was a story behind all of this. Each time Emma visited the haunted house, her feelings for David became stronger, deeper. It seemed like he wanted her… and she wanted him, too. After finding some information in the library, Emma saw that there was another girl her age, with her same name, around the time David died. She also looked exactly her and Emma thought, is this why David loves me? He loves this Emma so much that he thought I was her? What is the real reason? Find out by reading this incredible love story with it’s terrible tragedies. I’d recommend this book to teenagers, but even though I’m not a teen, yet, I really enjoyed it. I think many girls will love this story, but I don’t really think many boys will like… Enjoy! =]

Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix-J.K. Rowling

This book is about a boy named Harry Potter. He is a wizard, but hates the summer holidays, because he has to spend them with his mean relatives, the Dursleys. When he is outside hiding in order to listen to the news, he hears a deafening bang from the streets and is blamed for it by the Dursleys. When they have finished telling him off, he sets out to find his cousin, Dudley. He finds Dudley with his friends talking about the latest person they have beat up. Harry walks with Dudley and cannot help teasing him about his size and his nickname. When Harry has reached the limit, suddenly everything goes black (to Dudley) and dementors glide onto the street. Dementors are black-cloated figures who, with the chance, will kiss you (that’s when they suck the soul out of your mouth) and you will exist with no soul. So when Dudley falls to the ground, Harry produces a Patrones. A Patrones is a spell to repel dementors; each wizard’s Patrones takes a different form due to the wizard’s personality or past experiences. And then the Dementors glide away. The only problem with that is, underage wizards are not allowed to use magic outside of school. If you want to find out what happens to Harry and Dudley, then you should read this book.

Memoirs of a Geisha – Author Golden

Memoirs of a Geisha is an outstanding book. It may be a long, small-words one, but it taught me many things. I’d like to recommend this book to girls 10 years of age and up because there are some adult stuff in it, but not that inappropriate.
Nine-year-old Chiyo Sakamoto was separated from her family because her mother was dying of bone cancer and her father couldn’t afford to take care of Satsu, Chiyo’s sister, and her. Mr. Tanaka Ichiro is a wealthy man who takes Chiyo to a place faraway in Kyoto to the Nitta okiya – a geisha house in the geisha district of Gion- where she befriends another trainee, Pumpkin, and where she has expensive debts. Those debts were caused not by Chiyo, but by the Nitta geisha, Hatsumomo, (who is jealous of Chiyo turning into a geisha) and this ruins Chiyo’s path of becoming a geisha.
After some time passed, Mr. Tanaka announced that both of Chiyo’s parents were dead and that Satsu ran away from her new home eloping with her secret boyfriend. After that, they were never seen by anyone ever again. Satsu was unsure of her future until she meets the Chairman, who gives her money to buy ice-cream, where then does she look into the future and sets it to becoming a geisha. Mameha, a rival geisha, who’s successful, to Hatsumomo sees the charm in Chiyo and takes her in. [Note: One of Chiyos' debts was charged because Hatsumomo blackmailed her into ruining Mameha's very expensive, silk kimono. Why was she doing this?] After being taken in, Chiyo’s name was changed to Sayuri and Mameha trains her to be rivals with Pumpkin by holding her deflowering ceremony (where Sayuri becomes a geisha) earlier causing Mother (Mrs. Nitta. She was planning to adopt Pumpkin, but then, changed her mind) to adopt Sayuri.
After many years, Sayuri becomes successful, but then, World War II comes in and ruins everything. Sayuri secretly loves the Chairman, who she met some time ago, but it seems like he’s pushing her towards his assistant, Nobu. After the war was over, Nobu pleads Sayuri to convince the minister to let the Chairman be the Chairman again (after the war, their business was over) and if she does so, he’ll become her patron. But Sayuri loves the Chairman, not Nobu. Follow along as Sayuri faces the many problems of being a geisha. The rule was that no geisha is allowed to marry any man. To a geisha, love is just an illusion, it does not exist. Please enjoy reading this book!

Wringer – Jerry Spinelli

Palmer LaRue first visit to the Annual Family Fest was when he was four and he discovered that on Pigeon Day, shooters would let out five thousand pigeons and kill them. Then, whichever birds were still alive, the wringers would come in and twist their necks releasing them form their misery… Or at least that was what he was told. Ever since his second visit, Palmer was scared to turn ten, he dreaded becoming a wringer. Many months before his tenth birthday, Palmer hears a tapping on his window, discovering that it was a pigeon. Knowing that his father was a pigeon shooter, Palmer tried to shoo it away, but somehow he ended up taking care of it and as time passed, he ended up loving it. Nipper [the pigeon. Palmer decided to call it that because he nips at everything] is a ordinary pigeon with eight colors on it’s body and one day, Palmer’s friends figure out that he has a pigeon. He became friends with his neighbor, Dorothy, (again. Before he was in a gang so he bullied her and she ignored him) and because of his life being endangered she starts to avoid him. After Palmer breaks up with his friends, he trusts Dorothy with all his heart and they both began to discover many ways to save Nipper. Together they set Nipper free in the city so he won’t be in danger, so that nobody can hurt him. The next few days finally became Pigeon Day and Palmer decided to come after all. There were many rare birds that lived, but there was specifically special one. It flew in circles and lowered to the ground even though it was targeted and almost killed. Could it be? Palmer wondered. This was one of the most incredible books I’ve ever read. I’d like to recommend this book to boys, but I also think girls should read this to understand the sensitivity and stupidity in a boy’s heart. This story may be fiction, but the Family Fest and Pigeon Day events do exist. Please Enjoy!

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows- J.K. Rowling

First of all, I would like to start by thanking Dillon D. because when he finished reading this book, he kept saying that he loved it and that it was wonderful. So, he inspired me to actually pick that book up and start reading it. Thanks Dillon! I owe you one!

The book I read, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, was in my opinion a very fantastic book. So, since I LOVED it so much I am going to tell you about the book in a summary. Harry Potter has been living with darkness all his life. Harry has been given a task to locate and destroy Voldemort’s remaining Horcruxes. But Harry must find a way to break his fear and complete his task. He must leave warmth, safety, and companionship of The Burrow to walk the path awaiting him. Also risking the chance that he might die. Will he finish his task? Or die trying? If you want to find out if Harry completes the task he is given, get up and read this fantastic book! I think this book would appeal to people that love fantasy and people who are into dragons and magic. In my opinion, I would give this book a 100 out of ten, because I loved it so much!

Molly thinks it will be a friendly tea, but it turns out to be some serious news. First of all, Lucy is bandaged all over her body. Also, celebraties have been hyptnotised and Lucy thinks she knows who it is. Molly’s quest is to stop this man, but she has promised Rocky, her best friend, she would never use hyptnotism ever again. She has only felt this once, when she stared at Lucy’s bushes. She told herself that next time she feels this feeling, she’ll let it grow instead of stopping it. It was easy to get a good hotel even though the Academy Awards were going on. Rocky hypnotised the person who books the rooms so they could get one of the best rooms in the whole hotel. That night, they investigated the evil man’s lair. They brought a man named Nockman because he use to be evil before Molly hyptnotised him. They brought him so they could get past the lock. All they found was a plan about E-day. They didn’t understand at the time what E-day was. The next night, they investigated the evil man’s room. He was going to be out on a dinner, probably hypnotising another celebrity. They almost got caught! Then, the evil man froze time! Molly wasn’t frozen though. Everyone else but her and the evil man were solled frozen. That’s when they got caught. Next thing they know, they were going to die in two minutes! Will Molly and Rocky get hypnotised because they know his secret? You can find out by reading Molly Moon Stops the World by Georgia Byng.

Yeah, that’s right I said no talking for a WHOLE day in school. It was the end of his class so, he went to lunch, and he was still not talking. He was not talking because he was doing a report on India and he found out that one the greatest leaders of India, Mahatma Gandhi, did not talk for a whole day for one day in the week. Mahatma Gandhi inspired Dave to do the same. So that his how he got into a HUGE mess. When he walked into the cafeteria it was the loudest thing you ever heard in your life. Dave was use to it. He was just sitting in the cafeteria and eating, not talking, but listening too. When he was listening to his friend’s conversation he couldn’t help over hearing Lynsey’s conversation that was at the next table. Lynsey was talking about a girl and her sweater. They talked and talked. Dave was so annoyed so he got up and he said,” IF YOU HAD TO SHUTUP FOR 5 MUNUTES, I BET THE WHOLE TOP OF YOUR HEAD WILL EXPLODE!!!!!” Dave made a bad mistake saying these words because, one, he broke the rule about Mahatma Gandhi and ,two, Lynsey was as mad as a monkey getting his banana stolen. Back to the story, Lynsey threw her sandwich and said,”Oh, like there’s something wrong with talking? You never have any trouble with yourself blabbering and blabbering every day. We’ve all heard you.” After that Dave and Lynsey started bickering at each other until they decided that the best was to settle this is to have a contest. The contest was to see who can not talk for 2 days, but can say a 3 word sentence, maximum and it was also boys against girls. If you want to know who wins in the contest and if every 5th grade student gets in trouble read this fantastic book, No Talking, by Andrew Clements. I think this book will appeal to boys and girls, ages 8 – 13. This book can also appeal to adults, but not as much as kids will like it. This book does not have a hard vocabulary at all. I thought this book was fantastic because it was funny and I liked the whole concept about not talking. I also thought this author was very creative with this idea and I would like to try this sometime because it sounds fun. I loved this book and I know you will to.

Warriors:Into the Wild – Erin Hunter

Four Clans of wild cats have been fighting for their Clans’ survival, The ThunderClan, the ShadowClan, the RiverClan, and the WindClan. Rusty, an ordinary house cat, finds himself wanting to be free, with the wind blowing in his fur. He fights with a wild cat, Graypaw, and earns the privilege to become an apprentice of the ThunderClan, which changes his name to Firepaw. Firepaw trains himself to hunt, move swiftly, and now he has warrior blood. But with his clever movements, will he be able to save his own Clan? Ravenpaw, another apprentice, lost his mentor, but it seems like he’s hiding a secret about how he died… or about who killed him. After a few moons (moons=years or months), Firepaw has become a strong-hearted apprentice. But, everything is getting worse. The WindClan was driven out of it’s territory by the ShadowClan and now the RiverClan is sharing their territory with the ShadowClan, just because they need more food! Now, shortage of food is becoming a BIG problem for the four Clans. The ShadowClan is attacking the ThunderClan! Lately, they’ve killed the ThunderClan’s medicine cat, Spottedleaf, and they’ve taken Frostfur’s kits. Yellowfang, ShadowClan’s medicine cat, was kicked out and now she’s fully become a ThunderClan warrior, but no one is willing to except her, besides Firepaw. Yellowfang knows who did this and she’s helping to get back the kits, but can she earn their trust, just by returning Frostfur’s kits? On this journey, Firepaw and Graypaw are willing to risk their lives to save their Clan, but will they be rewarded for fighting bravely with all their might? Read this book to find all the answers and please read carefully! I recommend this book to everyone and I really enjoyed it. Their was so much description, that I couldn’t stop reading it. I even stayed up past twelve o’clock! Enjoy.

Switched- Sienna Mercer

This is a book that is about a girl named Olivia who gets put into a school where almost everyone goth. I hope you know what that means because it is hard to explain. This is the first story in the series. It is all about the time when two twin sisters Olivia Abbott and Ivy Vega find each other but they didn’t know the other exists. Then Olivia finds out that Ivy is a vampire. Will they separate forever? Or will they accept each other for who they are? You will have to read this book to find out. I would recommend it to more girls than boys. I hope after reading my blog you will choose this book to read. I am now going to read the rest of the series.

The Scary States of America- Michael Teitelbaum

This is a great book about scary stories. Most of these stories are based on true events. Like the one about a bleeding house. And also the one about the long distance call or the one about the ghosts haunting the store. This is a long story but there is not much I can tell you about it because this book is something you need to read on your own. If you have bad nightmares and hate horror books/movies don’t read this. I thing boys and girls would like it and that if you start reading the first ones don’t finish the book because the stories keep getting worse and worse. This book is one of the first horror book I have read and I hope it will be you first too. If you can’t get it in Mrs. Phillips’ library you should try getting from a different library. As I said before don’t read this if you have bad nightmares.
