Specials- Scott Westerfeld

Tally is finally a special, a strong and mighty fighting machine. But Tally is a little lonely, so she tries to get her friend Zane to turn special, except there’s one problem you have to have done something special. While Shay and Tally try to make Zane seem special they end up starting a war. Also when Tally can finally take down smoke something happens. I think that anyone who likes adventure would enjoy reading this fun story.

I also read Specials by Scott Westerfeld! This is the third book in the Uglies Series. You have to read the first two books before reading this one. Here’s the order of the series:
    Uglies
    Pretties
    Specials
    Extras
I’m really anxious to read Extras. Great blog Melissa! Here’s mine:
Tally is a special. A special! She hated them but, now she is one of them. She is terrifyingly gorgeous, amazingly strong, and lightning fast. A real fighting machine. Tally is lonely without her ‘boyfriend’ Zane. Tally and Shay try to get Zane to become a Special. While they try, Zane is dying. He has brain damage. If you read Pretties by Scott Westerfeld. You’ll understand the whole situation. Tally and Shay end up starting a war between their city, New Pretty Town and a city called Diego. The city of Diego is in the wild. They have to survive on thier own. Tally is supposed to destroy Diego. But, once again her heart gets in her way. Betray Smoke and Diego forever? Or complete the mission she started? She picks the decision that will change her life forever. Something happens in this book that changes my whole point of this series. I think this is probably going to be the saddest in the series. (I can’t say yet since I haven’t read Extras) If you’ve read this, you’d know why I thought this book was sad. But, overall I loved it.

Specials was a great book. Scott Westerfeld is a great writer. I enjoyed all of it. Cover to cover. Heather and Melissa did great on summarizing the book, but I think you guys should also mention that her friend Zane was a little bit more than just a friend. Personally, I think that one of the cool things about this book is that the tattoos that pretties and specials have can move. Move! Like Heather, I haven’t read Extras yet, but I have a feeling I’m going to like it. Hopefully I will be able to read it soon.
