Hannah West in the Center of the Universe- Linda Johns

Well this book is the third in the series and takes place in Fremont. Which is not actually the center of the universe but is know as it. So, about the book the mystery to be solved is that there is a dog stealer out there somewhere. The detective is 12-year-old Hannah West a professional house sitter, dog sitter, and baby sitter. Well the first dog that was stolen was Ted’s dog. Ted is Hannah’s new neighbor. Well then Hannah puts up posters of her business of dog sitting and of Ted’s missing dog. Then at this one store someone keeps taking the posters down. Is that the store that stole the dog? You will have to read the book to find out.

I will recommend this book to girls and boys. And I would recommend the first and second book first.

This book is about a girl named Nim that lives on an island with her dad and her “friends”. Nim’s dad sets sail for three days to collect plankton, while Nim stays on the island. Nim’s dad is not worried about Nim because her “friends”, Fred (iguana) and Selkie (sea lion), would be watching over Nim. While her dad is gone she takes care of the island and does her usual chores. On the second day Nim got an E-mail from Alex Rusoe asking some questions about coconuts. Nim told him that Jack is not available and later finds out that Alex Rusoe is a writer of her favorite book. Nim and Alex send E-mails back and forth. Jack does not return in three days, but sends Nim letters by having a bird name Galileo take them to the island. The letters tell what is happening on his raft and Nim sends letter back. Will Jack return? What do the E-mails say? This is a great book for boys and girls but, I think that girls would like it better.

Flawless – Sara Shepard

This is how it started:
Four sixth grade girls, Hannah, Spencer, Aria, and Emily lead by the beautiful and powerful Ali were having a sleepover. Typical. They were trying on clothes of each others because they decided to switch clothes for the rest of the sixth grade year. They all had secrets they didn’t want to tell so, they always told Ali each of their deepest, darkest secrets.

When suddenly, a couple weeks after the sleepover, Ali suddenly disappears. All her friends were worried. Soon, it didn’t hurt that much that Ali was missing and they kind of got used to it. Although, when they thought about Ali the pain came back. Three long hard years past until the police find Ali’s body in a huge hole covered in concrete and full of mud in her old backyard. Hannah, Spencer, Aria, and Emilly are so sad that they officially know that Ali is dead.
Later, after they recovered just a little bit, they all get IM’s, e-mails, and text messages from some one initialed A. They all think it’s Ali but they all know she’s dead. “A” tells each one of them their own secrets only Ali knew. Also, when they each get crazy in a love romance that no one knows about “A” threatens to tell everyone about each of their boyfriends. All of this drama leads up to one special thing, the Foxy. It’s the most exciting dance of the year and everyone brings a date.
They all get threats from “A” saying:

At Foxy, you have untill the stroke
of midnight, Cinderella. Don’t forget!

When Aria was in the car with her date, Sean, they were talking and having fun. Aria saw a bright green sticky note. She read it. The note reminded her the stroke of midnight! All four of them gathered and they thought about who “A” might be. But, they soon realized another body that might be…….

I loved this book so much. There are only about 3 or 4 innappropriate parts but, it’s awesome! I totally recommend it for girls more than boys. There is also some language that shouldn’t be said. I think that the author, Sara Shepard, wrote this book with passion and creativity. I loved it!
ENJOY!

Doomed Queen Anne-Carolyn Meyer

This story is about a very awkward life of a girl named Anne Boleyn. She wasn’t what you would call a young girl “destined to become queen”. But she’s gotten more and more what you would call “courage” growing up. While she is a young adult, she is determined to get to the top. So, she uses her advantages to win the heart of King Henry VIII. But, since King Henry VIII wanted a prince and Anne could only provide a princess, he did the unthinkable, he had her beheaded! Just because she couldn’t provide a prince to take the thrown for him!

This book was very interesting for me to read, because I didn’t know about this kind of stuff. I would give this book a 10 out of 10 because I love, love, love historical books! This book would appeal to boys and girls that love history like I do.

So to wrap this up, I’ve got a few words for you! Get up, get ready, and READ THIS BOOK!

Warriors-Outcast-Erin Hunter

This book is about nine cats from a forest, which set out on a journey into the mountains to help a tribe of cats drive out intruders. Four of these cats are apprentices and the other four cats are warriors. Three out of the four apprentices have the power of the stars, but only one of the apprentices knows this. Two other cats from the tribe travel with them to the mountains. The two cats from the tribe were the ones who told the clan about the intruders, and how they needed help. On their way to the mountains they face holdups and troubles. When they finally reach the mountains they are turned away by the tribe’s leader. Will the tribe leader change his mind? What will happen to the intruders? Who are the three apprentices’ names who have the powers? Also, if you do not understand what apprentices, warriors, tribes, clans, and leaders are you should read the other prophecies before this one, so you would know the history of the clans. I think this book would appeal to both boys and girls. This is an awesome book and I hope you read it!
