I am so ADDICTED to this series! I have already read the first three books of the series in one week! Don’t read this book if you haven’t read the first two books. The Titan’s Curse is about a dyslexic, 14 year old teen who has already gotten used to being a half-blood. In the beginning, Percy, in pursuit of escorting two new half-bloods to Camp Half-Blood, loses a friend, Annabeth, meets the goddess of the hunt, Artemis (who later gets kidnapped), and finds out about a mysterious general plotting to use a monster to destroy Olympus. Now Percy, along with friends Grover and Thalia, has to team up with the Hunters to save Annabeth and Artemis, prevent the unknown monster from destroying Olympus, and solve the Oracle that says that two important people will die… I recommend this book mostly to boys who are interested in Greek Mythology.

This book was pretty funny,and the first two were the best! I can’t Belive Greg is still crushing on Holly Hills! Like Ione says, Greg got taken as Fregly by Holly, but at the end, when Holly writes to”K.I.T(keep in touch),” Greg’s tabs flip and he loves her again. Thank goodness that Tricia came AND go-away-now-Tricia-you’re-prbally-going to-break-Greg’s-heart-like Holly did!

In the book The Mysterious Benedict Society by Trenton Lee Stewart four kids go on and excting and suspenceful adventure. It all starts when Mr.Benedict puts out an ad in the news paper sying if you are a gifted child to come and take this test. So that’s exactly what Reynie, Sticky,(gorge) Constance, and Kate did. After they all passed the test through qualites or just getting all the answers correct they met with Mr.Benedict himself and his two helpers Rhonda and Number Two. Plus Milligan they’re body guard. Mr.Benedict tells them how they will be taken to an institute as normal/secret agent students and have to find a way to stop Mr. Benedict’s long lost twin brother, Ledroptha Curtain from taking over the world with his mind reading, brain sweeping machine. You will have to read the book to find out if the kids make it out of there alive or are doomed for the waiting room.

Hello, my book is Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix,it is the fifth book in the series of Harry Potter. It is a fantasy novel. If you know the story so far, then please follow along with the plot of the 5th novel. Now, dreading the stay with the Dursleys as well as dying of boredom, he still remains hidden from trouble. But it all changes when-strangely- Dementors (underlings of the Ministry of Magic) attack Harry and his Uncle’s son, Dudley. Then Harry tries to avoid being kissed by a dementor, which would result in soul sucking. He summons a Patronus (a protective charm) and the Dementors fly away. Later that evening, Harry gets expelled for using under-aged magic, and is scheduled a hearing for his violation. To add to that, Ron and Hermoine are Prefects- which bothers Harry, who has the mentality that HE should have gotten the role in place of Ron. Harry gets sent to the Order of Phoenix (organization) and hears about Hermoine’s view on owning elfs- a weapon that Voldemort desperately wants. Harry is also struggling with Dumbledore depriving him of more secretive knowledge. School for Harry is no picnic either. Dolores Umbridge, the new Defense against the Dark Arts teacher as well as High Inquisitor, punishes Harry for believing Voldemort is back. She does that with cruel detention. Harry has to cope with that, by starting a group at the place Dobby suggested, the Room of Requirement. They named themselves the D.A.(Dumbledore’s Army). While sleeping, Harry finds out he has a hidden connection with Voldemort and saw a snake attack Ron’s father. So he learns Occulmency, but lags behind because of all the other coping. Hagrid’s disappearance also adds to suspicion for Harry. However, the main point is will Voldemort succeed? Will Umbridge get the better of him? Will she find out about the group? I really liked this book. It consolidated adventure, romance, and action together. I would recommend this to boys and girls who enjoy the formerly discussed genres.

Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone is the first book in the Harry Potter series. It is by J.K. Rowling. The book is about a boy named Harry Potter who lives with his aunt and uncle along with his cousin, Dudley. They treat him really bad. He finds out that he is wizard and his parents were killed by this evil magician named Voldemort. He gets accepted in Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. He meets a friend named Ron Weasley on the train ride to Hogwarts. He also has a archenemy named Draco Malfoy. At Hogwarts, Harry gets sorted into groups by this sorting hat. Harry was sorted into the group,”Gryffindor” while Malfoy was in Slytherin. Lots more happen in the book when Voldemort tries to kill Harry Potter…read the book to find out what happens in the book. I think boys and girls ages 8 and up will like it more. In my opinion, I think girls will like this book the same as boys do.

The Merchant of Death by D.J. Machale is the first book in the Pendragon series. It is about a boy named Bobby Pendragon who discovers that he is a traveler who travel to Denduron(the first earth) and save the world from making a disaster. His Uncle Press shows Bobby how to travel through a flume to Denduron. When they were at Denduron, this tribe called the Bedoowan capture Uncle Press to their leader,Kagan. Bobby meets this new traveler named Loor as he slowly discovers his destiny of a traveler. Bobby, Loor, and Alder, this knight who is also a traveler, rescues Uncle Press. This book has lots of adventure in it and it is a fantasy. I would rate the 8.5 out of 10. I would recommend this book to boys and girls ages 10 and up. Although, I think boys would like this book better than girls.

I read Haunted Animals by Allan Zullo and I loved it. It has many creepy tales of ghost animals. My favorite story was Twister’s Farewell. It is about a dog named Baxter and he always loves to play with his owner Tracy. They love to play Tug-A-War. One day Tracy was going to school and before she left Baxter was whining. She was worried the whole day. At school she left Baxter in the back yard. At noon there was a really bad storm. There was a Tornado and it hit their yard. Baxter got sucked up into the tornado. Tracy was asking everyone where her dog was and when she turned around there was Baxter. From then on the called him Twister. On another day before school when they were getting ready to leave Twister was whining. Twister went with her and on the way there there was a drunk driver at the busiest intersection. What happens to Twister and Tracy? If you want to know, you should read Haunted animals. I would recommend this to ages 8-12.

I read Haunted Campers by Allan Zullo. I thought this book had really good stories. My favorite story is, “The Skull of the Leaping Buffalo.” This class goes to a overnight camping trip and these two girls always play tricks on Bobby and Mick. Bobby and Mick decided to pull a prank on the girls. The girls find a skull and think it is a fake one from Bobby and Mick, but it is not… What should they do? If you want to find out, you should read this story. I love all of the scary stories in this book. I would recommend this to ages 8-12.

The House of the Scorpion is an awesome book by Nancy Farmer. It is about a man named El Patron, a drug lord, claimed his clone, Matt, after he cloned himself. El Patron loves Matt as much as Matt loves El Patron. Matt is hated by everyone except El Patron, Maria, and Celia, his caregiver. He is given a bodyguard from El Patron who was poisoned in the end. When all clones are made, they had to be injected some medicine in their brain to make them dumb, but Matt wasn’t. He is special because El Patron is powerful enough to break the law. El Patron dies at the age of 143. Matt was supposed to give his organs to him but he refused. He then ran away into the wild because El Patron was supposed to live instead of Matt. Read the book to find out what happens next!
I agree to recommend to boys and girls age 10 and up. People who like science fiction should read this book.

In the story, a boy named Pendragon goes to different worlds to stop his enemy (Saint Dane) from accomplishing his goal to cause destruction. However, a territory named Veelox is in danger because of a thing called Lifelight. Lifelight is something that helps you creating your own world but not in real life. Pendragon’s friend tries to create something called the Reality Bug to stop Lifelight, but they fail. To find out what happened to Pendragon and his friends, you will have to read the book to find out.

Stargirl did plenty of crazy things, but I don’t blame her on them. Though it was silly, it was also kind of her to help and cheer for the opposite team. Leo shouldn’t have been ignorned just beacause he liked Stargirl. I also think it was silly she changed. But she loved Leo and would do anything for him. It was sad when she moved but was still in everyone’s hearts.

The merchant of death is an awesome story about Bobby Pendragon. It is weird how Saint dane or Mallos is able to send a quig shark through the flume. I thought the flume only worked for travelers. A quig is not a traveler. I like tak. It blows up on contact and does pretty decent damage. I remember when Press threw a tak at the quig’s mouth. It blew up. I can’t wait to read The Lost City of Faar.

Nice blog, but something you forgot to say was that Charlie hears voices from pictures, not voices he just hears. Another important thing that you forgot to say was that some of the other kids at Bloor’s Academy are also endowed and have special powers from the Red King. While at Bloor’s, Charlie makes many friends such as Fidelio, a great musician, and Olivia, a troublemaker. They are both normal students, but Charlie also makes friends with endowed people, such as Gabriel Silk and Billy Raven. I’m not telling you what their powers are because you have to read it yourself!

Aza definitly doesn’t sound pretty,on the outside,I mean. But as you go futher in the book, Aza really does have a true heart, and if only others could see further past her face they would know how kind and gentle she is. The prince,Ijori, was smart and honest to look into her heart than to judge by her looks. Did you notice in the epilogue that it stated saying that Aza’s sister became “close friends of the Kyrrian ruler, Ella of Frell.” In “Ella Enchanted” it mentions Aza’s sister a freind of Ella,too.
Fairest is an overall great book and not only girls, Emily, but boys, too canenjoy this simply amazing story wonderfully written by Gail Carson Levine.

I really really REALLY like this book all of your books now to think of it. Are you going to write a 14 15 and a 16? If you are that would really amazing when I first checked out of the library and read I could’t put it down. I had like 2 weeks till I had to return it and I finshed it in about a week so I read again. I just want to say thanks so much for being a great writer cause I used to hate reading tell I read 13. Well, it sure looks like you got to the basics of the book… and you say you liked the book even though it was long! I don’t know, for me, I was put off by the length of the book at first. Then, I got around to looking online for some more information on why this is considered one of the GREAT American novels and I came across this really cool site on Huckleberry Finn - Shmoop. Check it out. It really helped me understand why the book is so important and how to read it.

The story is good, but the facts aren’t. Tides GO IN AND OUT they don’t stay, covering land. In other words, the surface of the ocean wouldn’t rise. Though the town is on or in wooded areas, with people hungry, no mention is ever made of hunting or fishing. Rabbits, squirrels, and birds might not be favorite food, but they are food. Wells do not pump water on their own. Yet without electricity the water keeps coming when a tap is turned on in the house. And – the water runs out “because there are more people at their house than at Mrs. Nesbitt’s.” No – water in wells is a factor of the water table, and unless one house is uphill from another, houses near each other would have roughly the same water level in their wells. Mrs. Nestitt’s well could have been deeper than Miranda’s family, but the fact that Mrs. Nesbitt was the only one at her house would not matter.

As for the plot, whoever edited the book did a lousy job. For instance, Dan asks Miranda to the prom in an early chapter, and then later meets her at the hospital and says he was trying to get up the nerve to do so.

There are many other plot problems, but still the story is realistic in many aspects and worth reading.

I read this book and I loved it. Tally was a great person going after her friend like that. Shay was great also, but I think she made a mistake by running away even if she was following what she believed in. She could have got in alot of trouble.

Wow! A lot of people read the Twilight series, until the end, and so did I. This book was fantastic, but it was different from the others. It had three books in it, such as, book one: Bella, book two: Jacob, and book three: Bella. This is my favorite because it showed the book in Bella’s and Jacob’s point of view. I couldn’t believe she got pregnant though! I was shocked when I found out that their baby, Renesme, was half mortal and half immortal at the same time! Though Renesme is half and half, the Volturi think she is completely a vampire and, therefore, are banned. If you want to know if Renesme survives and if Bella turns into a vampire, you will have to read this book. This is a great book and a very popular series so I would highly advise you, if you haven’t already, to read this series… It’s AMAZING! This is a perfect book to read if you like romance, especially between a human and vampire, and maybe even a little action, like the conflicts between Jacob and Edward.

I also read the book The Boy Next Door by: Laura Dower. This book is realistic fiction, 4 points, and 159 pages and a great book. The main characters are Taryn and Jeff. This book is mainly these two AWESOME friends who have a good relationship of being friends, they have just about lived next to eachother since they were baby’s! I like this book because people can learn how relationships work among being friends for a long time. I like the part at the end but I shouldn’t give that away! I didn’t like the part were Taryn got glasses even though she hated them. I felt bad for her because she was getting called names, even by her best friend Jeff, Jeff was calling her “four eyes” Later on in the book Taryn and Jeff broke apart from being friends! Will they get back together? To find out you have to read the book The Boy Next Door by: Laura Dower. This book si mostly for girls because there is make-up and crushes and stuff like that this book was really nice but didn’t have enough action. I really enjoyed this book and hope you do to!

Well, this was a very good book. I really enjoyed the middle part of the book becase it really talked about the meaning of life. I really learned about the meaning of life and the scientific meaning. I really liked all the journeys Lizzy and Jeremy went through because they invovled Lizzy, mostly. Lizzy is my favorite character. I also really liked the ending, when Jeremy relized it was all set up for them. It was also very sad when Mr.Oswald still ended up having to move to Florida. Also, I can’t believe that he wouldn’t go more than four bloks from his house! I would go more than four blocks than my house if i could. I really liked this book. It teaches a great lesson for 5th and 6th graders. I hope others read this book ,too. It was fun to read.

I also red the book, 11 Birthdays, by Wendy Mass. I enjoyed reading this book and I can relate to Amanda so much!

11 Birthdays is about a girl named Amanda, and a boy named Leo, celebrating their birthdays together every year. Until their eleventh. On their tenth birthday party, Amanda heard Leo say something rude about Amanda to his friend. Amanda was very upset and hadn’t spoken to Leo in a whole year! when their 11th birthday is finally over, Amanda wakes up from her sleep and finds out that her birthday is repeating itself over and over again! And when Amanda starts talking to Leo, the same thing is happening to him to what is happening to Amanda!

Will Amanda and Leo EVER fix this? Will Leo and Amanda make up on this wonderful adventure and be friends again? To find out what happens to Leo and Amanda, read this book, 11 Birthdays. I highly recommend it to mostly girls 10-14. My favorite part in this book was when Amanda found out that Leo was too reliving the same day over and over. Kimi, Carly, and Heather did a great job explaining the book, and I don’t think I have anything more to add! Great job!

The Name of This Book is Secret by Pseudonymous Bosch is hilarious. I never got bored! Like Justing said, I like the chapter where all he talks about is wanting the chocolate. (You’d get it if you read it.)I know that everyone is talking about the Xxxxxxxxing, so I shouldn’t. But it’s just to funny. With the information that the narrator wants to keep secret, he goes Xxxxxxx, Xxxxxx Xxxxxx. Even the names of the characters are not the real ones. The narrator tells you at the beginning that he’s going to use thes fake names. Some of these fake names are Cassandra, Max-Ernest, and Benjamin Blake. I think that both girls and boys would laugh while they’re reading this book. So, pick it up already! I thing in my mind this book is a 9. (Out of 10, of course!)

Specials was a great book. Scott Westerfeld is a great writer. I enjoyed all of it. Cover to cover. Heather and Melissa did great on summarizing the book, but I think you guys should also mention that her friend Zane was a little bit more than just a friend. Personally, I think that one of the cool things about this book is that the tattoos that pretties and specials have can move. Move! Like Heather, I haven’t read Extras yet, but I have a feeling I’m going to like it. Hopefully I will be able to read it soon.

I read Breaking Dawn as well, and I loved it like all the books in the Twilight Saga, even though they are kinda inappropriate for younger ages. The story is about when Bella becomes a vampire, gets married, and has a baby named Renesmee. One day Bella, Jacob, and Renesmee go hunting, when Irina spots them and mistakens Renesmee as a full vampire child. Vampire children are illegal since their learning and personality doesn’t grow. Now Bella faces the Volturi, who plan to come to Washington and kill Renesmee. I loved the book and my favorite part was when Bella tried killing Jacob for imprinting Renesmee.

Dead is the New Black, by Marlene Perez, is about a girl named Daisy Giordano. Everyone in the Giordano family is psychic, execpt Daisy.

Her mother solves crimes with the local police of Nightshade. But when her mother needs help with a case, her mother asks her sister, Rose. The problem is that young girls around Nightshade are being drained of their life force.

Daisy is eager to help her mother with the case. She sets out to help with her best friend, Ryan. (Ryan maybe even more than her best friend.) But, when Daisy gets in trouble, will her powers come when she needs them the most?
Will she solve the crime? Read Dead is the New Black, to find out.

I loved this book and I would give it a 10 out of 10. It’s a quick read, and it is worth 7 points. This book would appeal to mostly girls.

I read this book after Cynthia recommended to me. I agree with Garret, but I don’t think this book is very scary. Those who like adventure and stories relating to medival tales would really like this book. I would rate the book a eight or a nine because of the desription makes the story very interesting.

I LOVED this series. I liked this book because it has action and you get to learn about the behavior of the newborn vampires. Well the story goes as Victoria plots to take revenge on Edward for killing the love of her life. She does so by creating an army of newborn vampires. Once the Cullens hear about this, they have to plan how to protect Bella. They realize they have no choice but to team up with the werewolves. My favorite part was when Edward, Jacob, and Bella were in the tent in the middle of the blizzard and Bella freezing to death and Jacob tried flirting with her. I cracked up at that part. I think this book is for the teenagers and young adults.
